Interpreting a biblical text, offering useful teaching, or consulting on a pastoral care situation all begin with careful listening - listening to the gathered community, to a biblical text, to a spiritual tradition, and to the stirrings of God in one's own heart.
In weekly preaching, Duane tells stories in such a way that listeners can connect their own experiences to a specific passage of scripture and to the bible's overarching themes. Experiences of grace - both within a biblical text and in daily life - are central to this approach.
Duane also appreciates opportunities for public speaking, teaching, and consultation on pastoral care needs. He can tailor a presentation to the needs of a particular group; a list of workshops he has offered in the past appears in the "Teaching" section of Spondizo.
